Science & Memory
IRCO helps integrate refugees and immigrants into communities, and they have been doing this for over 40 years in the Portland, Oregon area as well as the greater Pacific Northwest. They provide employment services, and job training for new residents, helped with language barriers and integration, and established two community groups including the Asian Family Center in 1994, and the Africa House in 2006. Jessica’s photography work has helped them build their online presence and give immigrants a useful online resource to reference. Her ongoing work for science and memory which is a three year multi media program to bridge the gap for communities first affected by climate change also showcases her unique ability to provide photographs that can make a positive change.
